You’ve worked hard to memorize the chords to your favorite song but something is missing. Chances are you’re randomly strumming away and getting lost in the rhythm like someone who can’t dance. I totally get it, you’re rhythmically challenged!
Let’s fix this.
Beginner I Strumming is designed to teach you how to count and strum rhythmically. Once you learn how to assign down and up strums to the count, you are well on your way to understanding rhythm guitar. If you can count to three or four, then with a little guidance you can learn how to strum rhythm patterns to most of your favorite songs.
Before you begin, it’s assumed that you have already learned a few chords. If not, then I would recommend Beginner I Guitar. This is included in your membership. There you will learn the fundamentals of guitar technique which includes chords, strumming, and a lot more in a step-by-step study guide. In fact, this strumming course is made up of selected material from Beginner I Guitar.
If you are beyond that “dead beginner” stage and want to focus on strumming then all you have to do is follow the links in order. The course will introduce topics in a step-by-step, easy to understand progression.
My goal is to help you learn how to count and strum half, quarter, eighth, and sixteenth notes in 4/4 time signature along with ties and rest. These features represent the majority of strumming patterns in rock, blues, country, and folk styles. For those of you who are singer/songwriters, this course will prove useful in helping you write creative rhythms to your songwriting ideas.
